Hi Guys,

Hi NickWills!
Welcome to the Wildtangent Gaming Community Forum. I have split your post off from the topic it was posted in as you like the game mentioned and the original topic was about games that were disliked. ;)

Now we will have a topic where non-WT games can be discussed. :)

LOL Spock--I like how you snuck another fav games thread into the mix for us ;)

anyone else besides Marcus a big Guild Wars fan?

BOOOOOO WoW ! GUILD WARS FTW!!!!!! *clears throat and recovers*

I'd love to hear some more opinions on GW1. I already know from watching YouTube vids of the GW2 beta that I want to play it.

Any other big RPGs that are folk's faves? I am considering Skyrim, for example.

As far as my favorite Non-WT game, that's a toughie. I would prolly have to say Sonic games on my old Sega Genisis, tho. I played and played and played those Sonic games ;)

I really enjoyed helping with the Sacred 2 Beta. I was even given a copy of the game for helping.

I haven't played it since because the company that developed it, Ascaron, went out of business. They were literally working on it until they had to leave their building because they felt responsible to their fan base.

Sacred 3 is being developed by a different company and I'm not sure if I will even look at it. :(

Loved the video, thanks!

BTW, I have Skyrim on the PS3, so I can't play with any Mods either. :( Should have gotten it for the PC.

lol! Thanks for the edumacation Marcus! ;)

So how do you like Skyrim Spock? (Even tho you can't mod it?)

I am trying to decide if I should buy a copy so I have something to do between now and GW2 release. I was considering GW1 maybe as well, but Skyrim looks so interesting. I just wish it wasn't $60+ a game on these guys. That gets crazy expensive! My friend bought me SWTOR for my birthday (tho I pay the monthly) but it turned out to be a dud of a game. If I'd have bought it I'd be realllly mad over spending $65 for a copy. I played the 30 days that it comes with and was ready to stop. I did do one 30 day sub, tho--just to finish the storyline on my main. I finished her story and have barely logged in since (and I still have like 2 weeks of paid playtime.) Very very dissapointing.

Anyway, so yea--I am about to go nuts not having a game to play that I can get engrossed in! I know Diablo 3 is out there too, but it prolly is not my style. Any other suggestions for PC games? Looking forward to hearing more about people's faves!

... So how do you like Skyrim Spock? ...

I know Diablo 3 is out there too, but it prolly is not my style. ...

If you have any of the other games in the "Elder Scrolls series, then it is a must have. I like the graphics and the level of control over the UI and character. Skyrim is closer to Sacred 2 than to Diablo 3 (have that as well). You can actually switch from an overhead view to a first person view; almost as if you were looking out your characters eyes!

The world is wide open like in the Sacred series. If you want, and are bored enough, you can actually walk anywhere in the entire area of the game. There are also horses you can ride to speed things up or horse drawn carts taxis) that will take you from one predetermined point to another almost instantly.

I was a little disappointed in Diablo 3. There is only one character view, overhead, and it takes a major mental shifting of gears when switching from almost any other game to D3. The map is almost linear, meaning that you go from act to act and areartificially limited to certain areas in order to progress. Of course, this is like the earlier Diablo games but it is still a limitation I have grown not to expect in many of the games I currently play.

I haven't finished Skyrim or D3 yet, so cannot comment (yet) on replayability.

Ok--I have not played ANY of the Elder Scrolls ones--I had not even heard of Skyrim until a bunch of people on SWTOR kept mentioning it as a great single player game. I like video games but I am not a "hardcore" gamer and have not played a lot of the more modern stuff. I have especially played very little of games that cost more than $40 per game. I just don't have lots of money to dump into games, unfortunately. I don't own gaming systems at all and play only on the PC right now. So I am coming from a place of knowing nothing about these games except what I have seen on YouTube or whatever ;)
I played WoW after it had been out for a few years because my then roommate IS a hardcore gamer and turned me onto it. (Same person who got me SWTOR--both times he got me into the game because he was/is playing it and wanted a friend to play with--and both times HE paid for my copy of the game, otherwise I'd not have played!) I liked WoW and played it for over a year. It was a bigggg time sink and so I stoped playing games like that for a while because I felt like I got nothing done ever! lol Now I have a job that allows me plently of time to play games and I am bored A LOT and I find I WANT another big time-sink game ;) This time I am looking for something that I am going to pay for, so I am hoping to know if I am going to like it or not before I buy it! lol $60+ is a lot for me to spend for a game. If it keeps me playing for months and months tho, it will be worth it! I can try out GW1 and GW2 because my friend bought both recently and is ok with me trying them. That way I'll know before I spend $$ if I will play em or not. Skyrim tho, he never played and I can't try. It looks awesome but I have no clue anything at all about the game.
Anyway--sorry to babble on! I don't mean to hijack the thread, either! Just hoping to add some NEW favorite games to my list of faves lol! Thanks for any feedback.

one of the great things about GW is its non subscription so once you buy the game your good to go . Any Cash Shop purchases are optional and for the most part cheap .

On a side note Buy the Guild Wars books that are out to read before playing GW2 it gives you a lot of lore filler beween the 250 years that pass between GW 1 and GW2 . Story is one thing not lost on Anet they can tell a good one in thier games . (bar factions that ones kinda disjointed).

Ya--I am super excited about the lack of monthly fee on a MMORPG! I also have been watching vids and the crafting in GW2 looks amazing. (Crafting and playing on the AH were my fav things in WoW--I love making game money by being good at figuring out the market and making lots of stuff to sell. Maybe that comes from being crafty and liking to make things with my hands IRL? I dunno.) The "dynamic" thing instead of questing sounds pretty awesome as well. And we already know I love story--so ty for the suggestion Marcus :) Am pretty sure I am really gonna like GW2. Problem is no release date yet! Am tempted to pre-order to play in beta, but the friend did that and I can play on his (if I can pry it away from him on a beta weekend lol). I am just trying to figure out what to do with my time between now nd then, since SWTOR ain't it and I have yet to find any awesome WT games to fill in, either. I just get bored so easy! Gotta keep my brain occupied ;)

My four absolute favorites! Beat all of them except Final Fantasy 7... Got to the end but it's so time consuming to build up enough to beat Sepheroth... And not/ wasn't sure I had/have the skill to win...
But doesn't elliminate it from being my absolute TOP favorite ;)

... Final Fantasy ...

I think I still have the original Final Fantasy (1) for the Apple ][ lying around somewhere. Most of the early versions I got were for the Apple ][.

I also have some of the later series for the PS1, and 2.

Wasn't that one the one where you have:
Fighter
Black Mage
White Mage
Ninja
Thief

And you had/ got to choose four of them to make up your group/ team.
About half way or so through the game they grow up or change, at any rate?
The mages no longer have the hoods on and all appear to be taller then
they were/ are origionally.
Someone mentioned/ said they were/ are more choices of classes but I only remember seeing
the five I mentioned.
Someone told me the Fighter is the 'best' choice for the leader.
And the IDEAL group is/ was the Fighter, Black Mage, White Mage and Ninja. Posted Image
