Also does anyone know how to get enough money to buy the armour in the blacksmith shop and get the crossbow after the battle at the castle?
I can't find any information on how to do things other than the controls - which is very frustrating - can anyone help?

I haven't played this game, but I found a 'walkthrough' for you that seems to give quite a lot of good hints and tips aswell:

Hope this helps.

The game doesn't give you a chance to pick up gold, food and other items at crucial moments before they move you to another location for new missions. It doesn't allow you to resupply for your character and the other lead soldiers - going to bakery...bakery has limited supply. Each lead soldier needs enough food to heal all troops assigned.
Any hints will be a great help.
Thanks.

I haven't figured it out yet.

The one thing that kills me about this game is that if your character gets killed you lose all the experience points you got. This makes the effort seem useless. They should have a character with unlimited supplies in each of these mission sites or put in more food drops or have each 'soldiers' supplied with a full compliment of food stuffs for each mission or give you - and all the 4 lead characters - a ton of food at the start of each mission. My character and soldiers get injured easy and die easy. I've gone through this mission - Mission 4- a number of times and it seems to get worse not better.
It would help if we could redo easy things to get experience points to help the characters perform better in latter missions.
Even if we had to fail many times in Mission 4 until we got better we could play all of the characters to get xp up and just keep doing that until we succeed and they get trained.
Why do the soldiers run in front of the main characters - Joan, etc? It makes it tough to be strategic. They rush into battle prematurely.
When I was freeing and talking to the prisoners - after all the soldiers had died off - why was La Hire running around getting into fights and dragging the fighting closer to Joan - my character.
Being a woman I like playing the female character and being good at it in a computer game. I'm not that good in real life.
And I can't really do all that stuff in real life. I would get killed.
It seems the more I play the quicker Joan dies. Do we have to delete the mission and just start over from scratch? Or start from the beginning?
After a while you just stop caring about those silly French people.

Thanks for the link, I had found the one you gave although it does give some very good tips on the walkthrough it would seem that the only thing it does not give is how to change characters - it does mention to change characters but not actually HOW to do it! Frustrating, especially as somehow I managed to swap to Jean de Metz and have no idea how I did it!!
I am on Mission 3, have just got the Level 3 sword for Joan but can't get to try it out as I have switched to de Metz! Grrrr. I would have thought that the developers would have had a 'help' section in the actual game, as I would presume there are more people than us having difficulties with certain aspects of the game.

As I said, I haven't actually played this game. However, I downloaded it today and did a search and I've managed to find the game's 'User Manual' which is in PDF (Adobe) format.
On my system (which is Windows7) it is to be found at :
C:\ Program Files (x86) \ WildGames \ Wars and Warriors Joan of Arc \ manual \ JOA manual.pdf
It may be in a different location depending on your system, but if you do a search for the filename (JOA manual.pdf), if you can't find it at the above pathways then you should be able to find where it is stored on your own computer.
It seems to be very thorough, so hopefully it'll help you both. It definitely mentions how to change between 'commanders' Lezlee24, so that's good news for yourself at least.

Many thanks for finding this information - it really is much appreciated! I can't believe the amount of time I spent on the internet looking for this - and to find that it was on my computer all the time - well what can I say?? I still can't believe the game developer don't mention critical things like this under 'help' within the game though!
I have looked through the Manual quickly and have already picked up some information that will be of use (and hopefully help me continue through the game without getting killed!).
Thanks to all who replied to my query. Wish I had thought of posting the query long before I wasted all that time attempting to find the information on the internet! Thanks again!!

...and to find that it was on my computer all the time - well what can I say...
Your welcome Lezlee24 and don't feel bad about it being on your computer... it's only due to quite a few years of experience that I thought of checking to see if it had been included in the download. Not all games have a manual or even a 'readme' file, most as you pointed out usually have all the relevant instructions as part of the 'help' in the game.
I'm just glad that you can get on with your game properly now. Please feel free to hang about the forum at any time too, you don't have to be asking for help to take part.

Do the developers read these comments?
I gave the game a good shot and my character kept dying in Mission 4. Willian de Pole was much too much. That guy never dies. I swear my character died a few times from just getting close to the guy. Just in his aura and death happens.
That's pretty much insurmountable odds.
I used up a tons of WildCoins so far and I'm not sure I want to beat that dead horse anymore.
Apart from that the concept is a good one.
Do those developers have less difficult games out there?

Wars and Warriors: Joan of Arc was made by Enlight software, which you can find by doing a simple web search.
At WildTangent, we do read these forums, so any suggestions you have about what we can do better are taken to heart.

In reply to Yiv147 if you attack any of the English Generals after they have made an attack they are more liable to succumb to your attack - I try to use my arrows (explosive ones if you have plenty) just to get past the various general - although some times just having the soldiers attacking them (provided you have plenty of them) the seem to either die or become wounded and disappear until later in the game.
If there is a fort near by I ususally buy as many troops as I can after having bought food and ammunitions. You will have to wait a while before the forts are re-stocked but I always make sure I have plenty troops before fighting the 'big' castle where there are four generals.
I have played it over and over - doing it slightly different each time (hopefully improving). I have also found that you can sell the various weapons and enhancements when you receive one of a higher level rather than just removing them from your itinerary because there is not enough space (as you may not have the chance to go back and collect them) and also the money comes in handy to buy food, ammo and troops!
Wish there were more games like this - really enjoy the strategies involved in playing!
