Here is the updated link to the Hobgoblin.
Please note that as-is, this mod is not useable in the FATE games. However, all of the necessary parts are here, and anyone with even a beginner's knowledge of FATE modding will be able to make it useable in FATE.

That looks great HMN - top notch work indeed! Thank you VERY much for that critter. He's definitely going into Camelot.

HMN - does this monster come with a reflection texture? He's VERY shiny - not that there's anything wrong with that. Maybe hobgoblins are fastidious about their armor. But I wouldn't mind toning it down a bit. If not, no big deal - the detailed texture is marvelous!

I've already made him the recruiter in Camelot and I'll code plenty of his evil cousins into the dungeons. The suit of armor is perfect for a medieval realm.

HMN - I know you're not terribly interested in modding Fate anymore, but if you're out there listening, did you ever make an animation.dat file for this monster? If so, could you post it? It would take a lot of guesswork out of the process for me. If you didn't, could we have the original max files to sort out all the <KEY> tag values?

I keep getting crashes when he equips certain weapons so I've pared him down to a sword and two attack SMAs, but it would be nice if he could do everything he's capable of...

I really do want him in Camelot, but I also want to honor the work you did in creating him - I know just how exacting that kind of work is.

Again, I appologize for having taken so long to reply to this. I should watch more of my topics.
I could package the entire Hobgoblin folder and PM you with it.
Let me know if you still need it and I will make a point to check back in a day or two.

That monster is able to use any of the items I listed in his .dat file...... Hmmm... If I remember right, he can use shields, polearms, swords, staves, axes... anything but a bow & arrow. I really am not sure why it doesn't work for you. I hope no one else has had this problem.
In the future, before I post a mod as complete, I may get a couple people to test the mod for me on their machines. I would hate if someone downloaded a mod I made and it caused their game to crash.

And, yes, there is a reflection map for the hobgoblin. I noticed that parts of his armour ARE blindingly shiny when I used the model in a game I was/am working on (sort of a FATE in first person). Anyway. As I said, lemme know and I will zip the whole HOBGOBLIN folder and PM you the link. I would rather not post it here though. Those are my .max files and I do not want them accessible to everyone.

He works great HMN - I had an error in my animations.dat file, that's all. He plays a significant role in Camelot, and you are included in the credits of course. I don't need the max files but the reflection map would be super.

Your modeling skills are fantastic! :)

My modeling skills are fantastic you say? Wow! Thank you! The perfectionist in me would not have thought so. lol

I will dig up the reflection map and send it to you now.

EDIT:
Check the first post at the top of the thread for the new link. I do not know why I did not include the reflection map in the first place.... oversight....
Anyway, I also included the sound files. Hobgoblins, at least all of the ones I have met, do alot of grunting and snorting. I think I managed capture the essence of their "language" here, though I have no idea what the Hobgoblin in these field recordings actually might be saying!
The .dat file is just a suggestion. Feel free to edit it as you see fit for your project.

Cool! Thank you, and thanks for the sounds as well - I'd rather not use the goblin sounds from the game - your originals are much better!

Because Hobgoblininin or whatever it was before made no sense. I see you have already changed it. Thank you.
