Well he may not be one-eyed and one-horned, but with apologies to Sheb Wooley,
ladies and gentlemen I present to you…

PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS v.1.0

For FATE: THE CURSED KING

So what’s so special about this mod? Well I’m glad you asked!

SOUNDS SOUNDS SOUNDS!!!

This mod comes with 30 new sound effects. PPE growls like a crocodile, screeches like a Pterodactyl (because we all know what Pteradactyls sounded like), and purrs like a stirred-up bucket of rocks. Every monster has its own unique soundscape – even the herdlings peep and gurgle like the cute little buggers they are.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

PPE has two spells that only he can cast: he can summon his missus in the heat of battle, and he’s got a vicious projectile spell called CRYSTAL DEATH. Here’s what it looks like, cast by the character…

Posted Image

You won’t find this spell on any scrolls – it belongs only to PPE, but you will be able to summon him up, and when you do, look out below! Shards of icy amethyst will rain down from the Magickal Realme of Purple and coalesce into your summoned monster as the earth shakes at his ominous arrival, all to the accompaniment of thunderous wooshing and the tintinnabulation of the bells, bells, bells…

A few Purple People Eaters are just the thing to have when you’re surrounded by a couple of dungeon bosses and their minions. Summon up a few of the big purple rock golems, and shortly they’ll call up the old ladies, and you’ll have yourself an army of violet violence…

BUT WHAT ABOUT MY PET?

Can he be a Purple People Eater too?
Why YES! Throughout the game, you’ll find purple crystals which you can feed to your pet to transform him into a PPE. The crystals work just like the fish - buy them from merchants, find them in crates, or fish them up…

Even the pet transformation has its own unique combination of effects and original sounds.

So class, let’s review. What does this mod have? FOUR new monsters, THREE new spells, ALL KINDS of new special effects, FOUR new crystals to feed your pet, and THIRTY (yes, thirty) new sounds. What would you expect to pay for such an awesome expansion pack?

$39.95?

NOPE!

$29.95?

LOWER

$19.95?

WRONG AGAIN!

AFRAID OF MODS?
NEVER PLAYED ONE BEFORE?

Read the second post in this thread for easy EASY installation instructions – it’s easier than installing most software!

A note and disclaimer…

NOTE: This mod is not a cheat. I have carefully tested and coded it to fit into the game-play of Fate: The Cursed King. As you begin the game, you will occasionally get to transform your pet into PPE, but you will have to build your magic points up to 55 in order to learn the summoning spell. PPE is roughly in the same league as summoned Wyverns, but with magic abilities. And it takes 75 points of mana to summon him, so you won’t be getting an army until your character has advanced somewhat, or you’re willing to buy a lot of mana potions. PPE will be very useful in the lower dungeons, especially during large melee battles, and Giant PPE is now the strongest monster in the volcano realm – you won’t meet him until you’ve defeated the realm boss.

DISCLAIMER: No Purple People Eaters were injured during the creation of this mod. Oh, wait, nevermind. That’s not true. In fact, they were stretched and shrunk, repainted, summoned and dispelled, hacked with swords, pounded with hammers, torn to pieces by evil minions, scorched, blasted, frozen, and otherwise annihilated, destroyed, incinerated, and vanquished.

This mod features easy "drop and play" installation - simply unzip the download, drag the folder named "PPE" into the REALMS folder of Fate the Cursed King, and you're done. The process is simlar in all operating systems but here's how it works in Windows 7:

1. Once you've downloaded the zipped file, go to DOWNLOADS and double-click on the file.. (The zip file will be called PPE and the icon will have a little zipper on it.)

2. Now select "Extract All Files" and click OK.

3. After the files have been extracted you'll get another window with a PPE folder in it. Grab THAT folder and drag it to your desktop. Close the open windows.

4. Now RIGHT CLICK on the FtCK desktop icon and select "Open File Location." Find the folder named REALMS, and drag the PPE folder on your desktop into the REALMS folder.

5. You're done. Close the window and play the game with PUrple People Eaters.

Note: not all mods feature easy "drop and play" installation. These instructions are for PPE and Fate: the Cursed King.

Also, to uninstall the mod, just do the reverse: drag the PPE folder out of REALMS.

Cheerio and happy gaming, John.
