Full Version: Purchased Game

I sure hope someone here can help me, my wife is ready to kill me. On December 30,2008 I purchased a game and paid for it, and I was under the impression that I was not going to be charged any more. Guess what, you are right, I am being charged $6.99 every month, and for this I am supposed to get 50 Wild Coins placed in My Account.
Now I know I am old, but I am able to read, and when I sign in to my account, there is nothing there. Each month I get an e-mail telling me of new games.
I know, you are going to tell me to GO TO THE HELP SECTION AND I CAN EMAIL SUPPORT. Wrong, when I do that, after typing the message it asks some questions. I answer them and when I get to the continue, it asks me for my email address. I type that in and then I get a message telling me that my email and password are not correct. IT NEVER ASKS ME FOR A PASSWORD at this point.
At this point, I am so frustrated I am about to call my bank and change my account number so I won't get charged for something I can't find, Wild Coins.
I am retired and live on a fixed income and having $6.99 a month deducted for nothing is just plain wrong.
I hope someone here can give a a suggestion on what to do besides the Help and Email way.
Sorry for sounding mad but like I said, I am frustrated.

Hello Netnut!

I apologize for any confusion with what you've purchased, as no one likes unexpected charges on their account! From what you've described, it sounds like you may have purchased a Super Saver WildCoins plan ($6.99 per month).

There are two ways to purchase games from our website:

A) At the normal price of $19.99: This is a standalone purchase (no WildCoins, no discounts, no recurring membership)

or..

B) You can purchase games at discounted prices, using WildCoins. Most games cost 50 WildCoins to purchase, which is only $6.99 with a Super Saver WildCoins plan.

The monthly WildCoins you receive can be used to play or even purchase other games. If you purchased 1 game per month with your WildCoins, it would ultimately cost $83.88 over the course of one year. Purchasing 1 game per month at the normal rate would be $239.88. While the monetary benefits alone are quite extensive, I can certainly understand your frustration if you didn't intend on purchasing a recurring membership.

In this case, you will need to contact our support staff if you haven't done so already. If your membership purchase was a simple misunderstanding, they can help get you back on track - so that you don't get charged monthly. If you'd rather keep your plan and use your WildCoins, they can also help with any technical issues you may be encountering.

You can contact the support team from this location: http://wildtangent.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wi...enduser/ask.php. Please be sure to fill in the required boxes, which have an asterisk next to them.

Cheers!

Ben---I have attempted to email support at least 25 times but when I get done with the question and fill in all the spaces that has asterisk, it tells me to continue. When I hit the continue button it takes me to a sign in page where it asks me for my email address and nothing about my password. When I type in the email address and click on the Login button, it tells me that the email address and password are not correct. I can assure you that they are correct. If I am doing something wrong, please tell me how to correct it.
When I am on the home page, it lets me log in with my email address and password but it tells me that I have no Wild Coins and I don't have Wild Coins account. If I don't have either of these, what am I paying $6.99 a month for?
I have tried calling the Wild Tangent HQs in WA but all I get there is a computer telling me to listen to the options. Option #3 is support but I still just get a computer telling me to go to the Help section on the Internet Site and send an email. I have left two voice messages with not call backs even though it tells me they will call me back. Not good business to lie to customers.
I am going in circles and am getting real frustrated. I would think that a company as large as Wild Tangent would have telephone support.
I want to give Wild Tangent the benefit of the doubt and hope we can work this out but my wife is at the point of calling the bank and stopping the monthly payment deduction. So far Wild Tangent has deducted $6.99 a month for six (6) months and I have gotten nothing. Again, not good business.
Please help me solve this problem.
NOT VERY CHEERFUL

Same here and also on fixed income (social security.)

I bought the Wild Coins one month and didn't want to mess with it. When I checked about cancelling I was told I could cancel but had to buy out the rest of the contract. Something like $76. It appears you have a big mess for sure and your account is not getting credited for your money.

I personally have never had any problems with the support team getting back to me promptly on any issue.
Having said that, It frustrates me to read letters like all of yours that clearly states an issue, and the only responce you get is not helpful.
Ben G, if you had read NetNuts letter you would have seen that he is unable to get the email to submit.
I may get kicked off of here for saying this, but It is wrong of you to respond to a problem without even bothering to pay attention To the problem.
Can't you get around the system somehow and get this man in touch with an actual person?
you are suppose to be on here to help resolve issues. Telling him to do something that has clearly not been working for him is not resolving anything. it is only 'dissolving' their trust in the WildTangent team.

If I may put my two cents in here. Netnut, do you still have the email that you were sent when you signed up? There is a link on it that will take you to customer support.

I did the same as you all did because I didn't READ the disclosure carefully. All I saw was that I could buy the game I wanted for 50 wild coins and $6.95.
As I already had a bunch of coins from other purchases I thought I was getting over! laugh.gif

I paid the $78.00 and now have a wild coin balance of nearly 700! As with you all too, I am on a fixed income and used a credit card.

Oh well live and learn! Always read carefully everything before buying anything over the internet!

I truely hope you all get this mess straightened out and don't let it sour you toward WildTangent. Good luck!

Hi Garry -

I'm sorry to see you're still encountering issues with attempting to contact support. If you haven't been able to get in contact with them since your last post, please private message me so that I can help in more detail.

Unfortunately I will be limited in what I can discuss on a public forum, in regards to any of your account details. However, this simple misunderstanding can absolutely get resolved, and the support team will need to handle the purchase and licensing changes over email.

I'd also like to address your post Faded Glory...

It sounds like you also had a misunderstanding with your membership purchase, and ended up with a large purchase of WildCoins that you didn't intend on purchasing. Simply contact the support staff from the "Help" tab at the top of this page. They should be able to get you back on track with your intended purchase.

As a general note, we do try to be very clear in our product descriptions and always offer more information in the Terms of Service, WildCoins Use Agreement, and various FAQ's on our support site. However, we do understand that things happen. If you have purchased something you didn't intend on purchasing, please do not use the product and instead contact our support team. I can't say that I've heard of a situation where we couldn't offer an amicable resolution, to address a simple misunderstanding.

Please be sure that you let the support team know you've repurchased the game at the normal price. I know on those type of compromise offers, the support team will ask that you let them know once you've repurchased the game. If you do not tell them, then they have no idea when/if you've repurchased the game.

Thanks for your feedback Beetle! You definitely won't get kicked off of the forums for simply voicing constructive feedback such as this.

Unfortunately, the issue that Netnut originally mentioned is not something I can discuss in detail over a public forum. As a result, I've explained that he will definitely need to contact support directly.

Generally, if people have troubles contacting support from the help section of our website, it's caused by one of two things:

A) They are not on the correct site
B) They haven't filled in the required fields

This is why I had offered a direct link, and mentioned that asterisks denoted required fields, in my first reply. I do see that the communication still hasn't been successful, and have since offered to take it up with Netnut in private messages.

Ben G, thanks for replying to me, but I am ok with what I did.

I have a grandchild and unless those wildcoins have an expiration date, they won't go to waste! tongue.gif

They don't expire do they? blink.gif

Hey Faded Glory!

Good news - WildCoins do not expire, and they can continue to be used until they are gone. I'm glad to hear that your grandchild has been enjoying the WildCoins!

Thank you for your response. I really do appreciate knowing that you guys are here to keep this a happy and safe forum. I just wanted to let you know that I understand how much work you guys have to put into keeping everyone happy and taken care of. It's a lot of work keeping up with all of us I'm sure.
It's a lot of work just keeping up with the post that I can help with in the walkthrough section LOL.
When I read a problem like this and see their frustration, it frustrates me that I can't help them out.
Especially when I have been so happy with the way that I am treated by the support team.

You are NOT alone- I too have had problems with them charging the WRONG account resulting in overdrawn fees. Customer service support is NOT helpful.

I definitely WON'T be resubscribing and tell people not to bother.

There are many companies right now who are engaging in sleazy practices that just take your money without asking and if you need help - they don't care.

They have warnings about PIRACY when wildtangent is the pirate!

Wait why waste money on coins while you can buy that game that you like thats from wild tangent? Theres like games on here that they made on CDs so that people can buy it. blink.gif
