so i added the label SET for each piece.
also if i tag an item as artifact "yellow" will it scale up in level?
i know the item must be at least level 15 to scale.

Looks good, heron...as always!
Keep up the good work; I'm downloading this as soon as it comes out.

ok so far i made about 10 sets for the warrior class.
they will all be in black and for every 20 levels there will be a set.
what do you guys want in the set as stats?
im thinking resistance since that is how gems work in the game.
level 20 set = 10% to all damage types
level 40 set = 20% to all damage types
level 60 set = 30% to all damage types
level 80 set = 40% to all damage types
level 100 set = 50% to all damage types
level 120 set = 60% to all damage types
level 140 set = 70% to all damage types
level 160 set = 80% to all damage types
level 180 set = 90% to all damage types
level 200 set = 100% to all damage types
5 items in a set
example of a level 20 set;
helmet = 2%
chest = 2%
gloves =2%
boots =2%
belt = 2%
example of a level 40 set;
helmet = 4%
chest = 4%
gloves =4%
boots =4%
belt = 4%

That sounds good to me. Just out of curiosity, would a level 200 set would make you invincible to everything exept poison?

honestly, i dont think many of us will reach level 200.
if you reach 200 than it deserves 100% resistance.

That sounds fair; I was hoping there would be 'upgradeable' armor because 2% resistance wouldn't help much on level 10,000.

I've made a mod - for experimental purposes - of a gem that gives 100% resistance to everything. Yes, it does make you invincible. I delved down to level 1,000,000,000 and stood there and didn't take any damage in the middle of a huge mob of extreme enemies. Unfortunately I couldn't get out unless I used a portal, because I didn't have any strength to speak of, and no weapon to do any real damage. I tried for about an hour and then gave up

I didn't have occasion to get poisoned, that I can recall... so maybe it doesn't protect against that.

the most resistance you can get are 7.
magic [poison]
fire
ice
electric
slashing
piercing
crushing
so test this by descending to level 500,000 with a level 40 char and i got poisoned pretty badly.
i might cap it at 75%
or do you guys want it like special resistance per set with no class requirement?
example:
1 set will have a total of 75% fire resistance
so 15% each piece?
this way you can switch sets depending on the dungeon?
does anyone know what the tag <artifact> do?

If I'm not mistaken, the artifact tag makes it so that the item appears with the yellow background. I think that's it. I'm pretty sure that artifacts act in other ways just like regular items. So, I'm pretty sure that an artifact can spawn as legendary, elite, superior, etc...

the only way to make an item unidentified is by making it an artifact.
i tried <unidentified>:0 to an non artifact item and it doesnt work.

I believe from other discussions that Artifacts are also subject to different enchantment possibilities, namely that they can only receive sockets and cannot recieve any additional enchantments.

thanks for clearing that up bob.
so i decided to remove the set text and added a star symbol to go along with the game.

what do you guys think about naming the items with ; whatevergloves [1/4] ?
or maybe just give them brackets? [Prometheus Gauntlets] or *Prometheus Gauntlets
Mattson the 4th
Feb 8 2009, 06:52 PM
Ah, that's right... artifacts are almost always unidentified. I never made that connection, since so many things are unidentified.
I'm pretty sure that when you try to enchant an artifact, you can get two results - a socket added, or all enchantments removed. Then, I think you could add enchantments to the item. I'm not 100% sure on that, though. I'll test it some more.

All I've ever received for enchanting artifacts was sockets, no erasures.
I like the little icon idea, just not the green stars.
Maybe a triangle/pyramid if a set is three pieces? Already have gold stars and silver medals (circles), maybe brass or bronze?.
Think of a equilateral triangle and each 'set' piece had a different part colored. Helmet-top point, gloves-left corner, boots-right corner, makes sense. Or weapon-bottom left, shield-bottom right, armor-top. Maybe four part sets could be squares... Hmmm... Could even have a center triangle in the pyramid idea for four set items...
Basically like a three or four piece puzzle where you find the set item 'pieces'. Like trivial pursuit with less pieces LOL!!
Wish I had more time to help with this one. Maybe I'll hit critical on one of my other projects and have to unplug from it heh heh...
I like just the brackets, you can identify how many pieces with the mini icons I think. No numbers. Keep it clean. I think the game already has enough numbers...

Hey, that's a good idea - a different symbol for each piece, and they "fit together" to make one... like four 1/4 circles... or four 1/4 angles that make a square:

i dont think i can do that, what you guys are asking will require some coding.
i will set a star colour theme for each set so when its in the stash chest you can tell it apart.
also does anyone know how to make an item not epic/legendary version besides limited it to level depth 8-11? what's <exclusive>:1 ?? <RESERVED>:1 ??
what do you guys think of having it drop only on floors 1-11 with a level requirement tag for each set?

I meant looking like a little icon, but each icon would need to be different (and alphas). The colored stars don't look bad though...
Sort of the idea Mattson... It would be way more labor intensive having a different icon symbol for each item, and they wouldn't add together or anything (bummer) when you found another piece, so the stars are easier to handle. BTW, is that just the game star alpha recolored?
Maybe we could use the bottom left for set item symbols (since the top is already taken)? Just a thought!
When we figure it out we could call it the Heron Set Imperative ... heh heh
Anything is better than more numbers!
I think some shape or symbol in the bottom left (besides colored stars, the game already has stars!). Maybe the letter 'S' or a '+' symbol or something simple.
(Edit: The colored stars look like they work well with your mod Heron since the set icons are all the same color. Some 'sets' might be similarly colored (red colored items for example) that wouldn't need colored 'tags', just a symbol of some sort.)

ok the set will be 9 and im going to cap the resistance to 50%, that's 50% that an enemy can hit you .. pretty powerful
so each set will have 1% for each piece of 5;
level 20 = 10%
level 40 = 15%
level 60 = 20%
level 80 = 25%
level 100 = 30%
level 120 = 35%
level 140 = 40%
level 160 = 45%
level 180 = 50%
