This would be more weird than suspicious, but:

I just got a dog, and as it needs to be housetrained, it is tied up at night, so it won't walk around in the house and "go" in unwanted places. I happen to have a large concrete block that it gets tied to during the night, and this is the weird thing - instead of chewing on the toys she (the dog is a girl dog) will gnaw on the CONCRETE BLOCK! Even during the day, she sometimes won't use her toys, but seems to prefer licking and chewing on the block.

maybe, your dog is part chicken, they swallow small pebbles that help them grind up the food they eat

A few nights ago I woke up at 12:26 a.m., I remember it to the minute , and I thought, "these blankets are too hot...stupid clock." so I sat up, looked at the clock for a few minutes. After my staring contest, I reached over and picked up the clock, turned it around in my hands a few times, sat it down, unplugged it, and went back to sleep. I am now in a passive battle with my clock [kinda like a cold war]
