for some creature to work 100% you must backup you save character then before installing this mod delete ALL existing ones in the character creation screen. if you run fate:ur make sure to delete the cache dds files in the player folder.

as you can see on picture #2 above .. i equip full armors in every slot without any deformations.


make sure you do a copy of your PLAYER folder (put it somewhere safe).
then delete your PLAYER folder in

C:\Program Files\WildGames\FATE Undiscovered Realms\

unzip my PLAYER folder into

C:\Program Files\WildGames\FATE Undiscovered Realms\

thats it. there should not be any mesh distortions even when putting on armors.

i had on hero boots, plate, sword, gloves, and my edited dragonskull (its some one elses mod i just inverted the color)

ok im 100% sure its the ARMOR mods from other people.
in their armor folder , they included the human sma files.
if you copy all my .sma files into that modded folder then it will work.

Heron this is an incredible contribution along with the tutorial. I've been wanting to find a way to have people play as knuckles so they could use all the cool kungfu moves. Great job on this.

no I think it's sweet! people wanted big monsters but of couse unless the original model is big it is not possible to scale it. That's a new texture too huh? I'm having some problems with the fishing animation on sonic, I'll pm you, maybe you can figure it out.

the only difference between those is the artwork. Each of the monsters you mentioned doesn't use a different model, just a different texture. You could simply put the texture for the other monster in the player folder and then rename it to the same texture as the one in use and you'll look like the higher version.

Changing your base character model doesn't change your stats, only your appearance.

even if you change the texture, you will still only be the size of a minotaur because the dark taurus is just a rescaled minotaur with a different texture. There is no way to rescale a model when you play as a monsters, which is why the bugbear that heron made is so small compared to what they look like in the game.

When you try to do this, the first thing you find is that in the monster/minotaur/ folder there is only one minotaur.sms and several differnt textures. Therefore there is, unfortunately, only one size. To play a big monster, the model would have to have been made big, but unfortunately most of the monsters were made the size of the character and then the scale tag is used to increase them in the game.

The monsters that actually are large are ones in the monsters.dat that have a scale some thing close to 1:1 and yet are big. That pretty much means giants, yetis and dragons.

Heron, I've gotta get your cyclops so I can see how in the world you associated it to a particular particle so that you could do eyebeams. Gosh is there nothing you can't figure out?

dude you are not listening to me. take a deep breath and focus. you CAN'T RESIZE THE MONSTER MODEL TO USE AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER. Try to wrap you mind around this, if you resize it in the dat, the monster will be resized, but that has nothing to do with your maincharacter models which you are placing in the PLAYER/ folder because there is nothing in the monsters.dat about the maincharacter.

Here's how this works. When you play, the game looks for these models: upper.sms and lower.sms the sizes of these were decided in 3dsmax when the model was made and are not scalable, they are as they come. If you put on armor, the game switches out upper.sms with armorname.sms if you put on boots it switches out lower.sms with bootsname.sms. When you play a monster as heron has made, you replace upper and lower and every piece of armor with monster.sms 43 times, so that no matter what you put on it is just the monster model.

There is nothing anywhere in any dat file that makes armor or the character model scalable, therefore it is impossible to scale a monster you want to play as, impossible. The only way would be if you had the monster's original 3dsmax file and could scale it in 3ds max and then reexport the model in a new size.

just make sure sonic have all the point helpers when you export his smas.
player will not fire off the attack1.sma so to get around this add another RIGHTSLASH2 or whatever. like so ;

my particle eyebeam works but i dont know how to adjust its damage output cause player folder dont call on monsters.dat

my particle was named particle01 and its group into the head bone.
user define was basiliskeyebeam or something like that. if your monster can cast it then it should work as a player. as long as you dont scale the sms during export.

very sweet! Yeah I don't see any way to make it more powerful. Added multiple hits for some of the kick attacks, I can't tell though if it is actually hitting multiple times however, it doesn't look like it. That would be the only way I can think of to make it more powerful.

lol, whoops forgot to vote! I like the lizardman but I recolored him to the black lizard pet by minifig. Him and the taurus are my favz. I didn't like the way the bugbear was scaled down but the lizard looks just right and I dig the tail. Someone has to do the archfiend though, the wings... I wonder if it's possible.
I've been so busy with sonic though I haven't had much time to play. That and for the past 2 weeks while I was debugging 89 conversion mods my fate wouldn't stop crashing, lol. Sonic is almost ready but I can't get the particle effects to fire off :crying: :crying: :crying: ughh it took so long to change every mouth, to particle and greaterdragonfire, this guy has a LOT of animations. I also added the rstab and lstab so every motion has 3 animations, 4 for rightslash and rightpikestab and everything works but no particle... *sigh* more testing...

Edit: Ok now I have fire... nonstop all the time... more testing...

Edit2: Ok I'm not wasting my time with this anymore. I looked at your sma's and the particle is not in all of them, it is only in the ones with particle animation. But the game doesn't recognize the breathstart and breathend for the character so the particle starts right from the get go and looks ridiculous. I'm just going to slightly tweak them to look like attacks and be done with it *sigh*

all you need is one pointhelper particle for that attack sma file. if you assign to all your action sma like running it will fire off. like how AT did his treekin with fire. if i had my guy with firebeam on all his sma .. he will fire it off every second.

right that is what I figured out, but you had originally said "on all your sma's", in hindsight I should have know better that kind of effect is what gives the gargoyles burning eyes and the elementals and sheesh my own super hedgehogs, lol!

But even doing it that way it ignores the breathstart and breathend keys and just fires off from the begining of the sma animation. So I'm skipping it, too much trouble. I'm going to edit the fissure, kamehameha, and firepunch to look more like lunges and slashes and be done with it.
